Description
Created attachment 226327 Here are two fonts (in case you don't want to edit your own)
- Install a new font and create an image using the text tool (and selecting that font). Save the image.
- Shut down GIMP.
- Modify the font and install the new version of the font.
- Start GIMP back up and open the image created in step 1.
Notice how the image has not updated based on your modifications to the font? If you edit the text, it uses the old version of the font in the modifications as well. However, if you open up the GIMP text editor by selecting 'use editor' and then selecting 'use selected font' it shows the new version of the font in the editor.
I think that this is a caching issue. I ran the command (gimp-fonts-refresh) in the script-fu console, but that did not do anything.
As a workaround I just renamed my font and had to update my image using the entirely new font.
attached are two copies of a font - the second one has a mangled 0 character, so it is easy to tell them apart
