TIFF files with multiple layers exported from Autodesk Sketchbook are imported as a single layer
GIMP version: 2.10.14
Operating System: Windows 10 x64 HOME version
Package: gimp.org
Description of the bug:
I used to have GIMP 2.10.12 and I was using .tif files with multiple layers just fine. I just noticed that opening a .tif file with multiple transparent layers, they all gets merged in GIMP. I think this didn't happened with older versions.
Reproduction
Use Autodesk Sketchbook for this: Create a new file. Create multiple layers on it. Draw different things. Save as .tif. Open that .tif with GIMP 2.10.14 and all the layers will get merged.
Is the bug reproducible? Always …
Expected result: That GIMP doesnt merge transparent layers on .tif files created with different software.
Actual result: GIMP merges all layers into a single layer called Background.
Additional information
As mentioned in the earlier issue... I use multiple software for my stuff. I use Sketchbook for drawing comics and such. And GIMP for digital coloring. Sometimes Medibang and ArtRage. But all four works with .tif files. I always try to use multiple layers to ease my work. I used to use GIMP 2.10.12 for this. But some bugs that I've expressed before and the fact that GIMP 2.10.X is slower than its 2.8.X branch made me switch back to GIMP 2.8.22. But it can't open .tif files with multiple layers, just like 2.10.14. So I waited for 2.10.14 to use it again for my .tif files. Here's with picures what I mean:
Autodesk Sketchbook .tif file with multiple layers and GIMP with that same file. The file is open in both software at the same time, so here's a full screenshot:
