Crop tool with "Allow growing" is using the wrong color/pattern for fill

Description of the bug
Crop tool with "Allow growing" and "Current layer only" creates an extra area that can be filled with FG/BG colors, white, a pattern or transparency. But it sos not using the current FG or BG color or the current pattern.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Start Gimp, note the FG/BG colors, or the active pattern.
- Change the color and the pattern to something else
- Create an image,
- Start the crop tool,
- Set to "Allow growing" and "Current layer only"
- Set "Fill with" to "Foreground color", "Background color", or "Pattern"
- Crop the background layer to something small
- Crop outside the layer to enlarge it
Expected result:
The layer is extended with the current FB/BG color or pattern.
Actual result:
The layer is extended with the initial FB/BG color or pattern.
Additional information
Even starting a new image still gets the Gimp-loadtime colors and pattern.
In the image above, the central white rectangle has been extended with pattern, BG color, and FG color, that don't look like the ones displayed in the Toolbox.
