postscript plugin crashes

I use GIMP 2.10.12 with Windows 10. Today, I have had the postscript import and help plugins crash with almost identical error messages:

"Plug-in crashed: "file-ps.exe" (C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\file-ps\file-ps.exe)

The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.

Opening 'C:\GZDoom\GZDoom\dmpsmu\windows\map01.ps' failed: Procedure 'file-eps-load' returned no return values"

and

I have never had these messages before. What is going on?
