Freehand Selection does not work in 2.10.6
GIMP version: Gimp 2.10.6 {latest version in Ubuntu repository at this time}
Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).
Operating System: Ubuntu Mate 18.10
Package: Gimp 2.10.6 {latest version in Ubuntu repository at this time}
Description of the bug:
Freehand Select draws a white line on the screen, but does not actually select the enclosed pixels. Invert Selection does not work either. Select None does not remove white line drawn by Freehand Selet. Undo does not remove line either.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Open Gimp 2.10.6 and open file to be edited
- Select Freehand Select tool
- Draw selection around area to be edited
- hit Ctrl+X or use [edit] [cut]
- All pixels in the image disappear, not just the ones within the selection. The white line which is supposed to indicate the selected area remains.
- Close all and re-open image
- Use Freehand Select again.
- Use Ctrl+I or use [Select] [Invert]
- Selection is not inverted
…
Expected result: Pixels within selected area should be selected and only those should be edited.
Actual result:Selection by Freehand Select only draws white line on screen and any editing edits entire image, not just the selected part.
