Description of the bug
Hello,
Here's an issue I've had for years under Windows 7 and now Windows 10 when scanning my negatives on my Epson Perfection V600 with EpsonScan 3.91, whatever the GIMP version since 2.8.
This issue happens when I've got an open image and call EpsonScan to scan a new image. If I ever close the open image before the scan is complete, the scanned image displays totally black although appearing perfectly in the Layers tab.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
-
I've got an open image in The GIMP. I call EpsonScan. (http://creafab.free.fr/Temp/gimp/Bug_GIMP_01.jpg)
-
The EpsonScan windows open. I select the picture I want to scan. (http://creafab.free.fr/Temp/gimp/Bug_GIMP_02.jpg)
-
EpsonScan starts processing the scan. Then, I close the previously open image. (http://creafab.free.fr/Temp/gimp/Bug_GIMP_03.jpg)
-
When the scanning process is over, the scanned image displays black although it displays correctly in the Layers tab. (http://creafab.free.fr/Temp/gimp/Bug_GIMP_04.jpg)
-
When I duplicate the Background layer, the scanned image then appears in the picture window. The two identical layers appear in the Layers tab. (http://creafab.free.fr/Temp/gimp/Bug_GIMP_05.jpg)
-
I can whether Cancel the Duplicate layer operation or Delete the duplicated layer. The Background layer containing the scanned image then appears correctly. (http://creafab.free.fr/Temp/gimp/Bug_GIMP_06.jpg)
…
Expected result: To have the scanned image displayed correctly even if I close a previous window image.
Actual result: The scanned image displays black.
