Color curves tool: Grid setting wish

Description
Hello,
Gimp (and other image softs) currently handles images with 16 bits depth. In other words, 256 levels for each component, with black=0 and white=255. These 256 levels determine 255 intervals, that is not a multiple of 4 nor 8 but is a multiple of 5. So, I found more logical to display the color curves with a 5x5 grid instead 4x4 or 8x8. Such a 5x5 grid is especially appropriate when working on images that will be saved in 16 levels gray, since the user can easily see or guess the vertical position of this 16 levels, and model accordingly her curves, that is very difficult with 4x4 (Gimp 2.4.x) or 8x8 grids (Gimp 2.6.x). For Gimp 2.6.7, that is the version provided by Mandriva 2010, I had only to replace two "8" with "5" in gimpcurview.c. I like Open Source Software. :-)
You can see my grid here: http://www.cijoint.fr/cj200912/cij0RljYHi.png
Perhaps it would be even better to give the user the possibility to set herself the format of this grid ?
