GIMP 2.10.10 Fill by Line Art Detection Bug (Fatal Error with Crash)
GIMP version: GIMP 2.10.10
Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).
Operating System:
Package: Windows Direct Download package from GIMP.org.
Description of the bug
When using the Bucket Fill Tool's new "Fill by Line Art Detection Feature," if I drag the bucket fill tool outside of the lines in the line art I get a Fatal Error (shown in the screenshot attached). Then, when I click "OK," GIMP shuts down. When I reopen GIMP, it asks if I want to recover my files.
Reproduction
Yes - I have reproduced this bug about 4 or 5 times. Happens every time (it even happened during my recording of my What's New in GIMP 2.10.10 tutorial).
Reproduction steps:
- Grab bucket fill tool, select "Fill by Line Art Detection" option.
- Click and drag the bucket fill tool to begin filling in areas inside the lines.
- Drag the tool outside any of the lines in the artwork. The error message will appear.
…
Expected result: no error message, no shutting down of GIMP. Perhaps bucket fill tool would simply fill in all of the area outside the line art on the composition.
Actual result: described above.
Additional information
I recorded a performance log while performing this action. I can attach it if you would like (just let me know in a reply/comment).
