Error when backporting Gimp 2.10.8-2 from unstable to stable due to Debian rules file
GIMP version: 2.10.8-2
Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).
I realise 2.10.10 is the most recent release, but it's not packaged for Debian yet. I could try adapting the Debian packaging for 2.10.8 for 2.10.10, but that would be extra work.
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux stretch (9.8)
Package: [flatpak? Installer from gimp.org? If another installer, tell us where from]
Debian sources from Debian unstable, rebuilt to stable. I also had to backport a bunch of other dependencies.
Description of the bug
Tests which are run as part of the Debian package build fail. debian/rules doesn't specifically mention the tests, so it's possible it's run as part of the default build. I'm not sure.
At the end it says
See app/tests/test-suite.log Please report to https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/issues/new
Please describe your issue with details. Add screenshot or other files if needed.
Test results attached as test-suite.log.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? [Always / Randomly / Happened only once ]
I ran it a couple of times and it gave the same result, at least for my machine.
Without the tests running it builds, but I have not tried installing it.
Reproduction steps:
-
Backport the Gimp 2.10.8 package from unstable to Debian stable. This is fairly complicated, but I could give details if really necessary.
-
When tests are run as part of the Gimp 2.10.8 build, they fail.
…
Expected result:
All tests pass?
Actual result:
6 tests fail.
