"Make New from Visible" produces wrong results
After opening a raw file via the darktable plug-in, I made the following adjustments, starting with an ICC profile conversion to a linear Rec.2020 profile from disk. Everything was fine until I did "Make New from Visible", at which point the resulting colors were all wrong.
Here's a video, starting from when the image is already opened in GIMP-2.99 (updated today, on Debian Sid):

The image precision throughout was 32f linear precision.
After doing "Make New from Visible" has produced a layer with the wrong colors, assigning the GIMP built-in sRGB profile makes the colors correct for the "Make New from Visible" layer, but of course incorrect for the underlying layers.
Starting over with opening the raw file via the darktable plug-in, and converting to Perceptual precision, and then to a Rec.2020 profile from disk with the sRGB TRC, produced the same wrong results from "Make New from Visible".
Edit: Oh, I forgot to list the steps:
- Import image via darktable.
- Convert to linear gamma Rec.2020 from disk.
- Duplicate Background layer and add inverse grayscale mask.
- Change blend mode to Addition.
- Make New from Visible.
