Path colour tags keep resetting

PATH COLOUR TAGS KEEP RESETING
I am currently working on a fantasy world map for some homebrew D&D sessions, and i've been drawing roads and searoutes using the path tool. For ease of editing individual roads i have made each seperate stretch of road into its own path, this has led to quite a lot of paths! I have ofcourse named them so as to be able to more easily identify them, but using the colour tag to differentiate between land based routes and water ones in the list is VERY useful, and it's a function that i see great promise in as my map expands (being able to colour code different regions), however, every time i restart gimp, wether i have saved or not, ALL colour tags are RESET! It's always been like this (so i've not used it a lot), but this is very frustrating! I need this to function as i move forward.
I have searched far and wide but cannot find an answer to this issue. The manual nor wikis explain how these function (they dont even mention it even exists) and neither google nor searching reddit or here have provided any results.
Is the bug reproducible? Always
- Make a path and colour tag it in the path list through the right-click menu.
- Reload the image or restart gimp
- Profit …
Expected result: All colour tags have been reset
Actual result: All colour tags have been reset
