Open file via Windows 10 context menu "Edit with GIMP" opens extra dialog - this menu entry is a leftover from GIMP 2.8
GIMP version: 2.10.x (last test with 2.10.6)
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 1803
Package: Installer from gimp.org
Description of the bug
Opening one or more files from the Windows Explorer context menu with "Edit with GIMP" opens always the windows dialog "Wie soll diese .jpg-Datei geöffnet werden" (german text, english could be "How to open this .jpg-file"). After selecting the GNU Image Manipulation Program the file will be opened with GIMP.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Open Windows Explorer
- Select a graphic file ( .jpg )
- Right click to open context menu
- Select "Edit with GIMP"
Expected result:
The file should be directly opened with gimp.
Actual result:
A windows dialog opens and asked if this file should be opened with the default app for this file type. Otherwise select an app from the list. (Fortunately is GIMP the first item in the list.)
If I have multiple files selected and use Edit with GIMP, the dialog will be opened for every file.
Additional information
If I use the Windows option from the context menu "open with ..." and select GIMP is works. But this in only an option, if i want to open one file. "Open with ..." is not available if multiple files are selected.
