Certain operations (Hue/Saturation; Export) in 2.10 are slower than in 2.8
GIMP: 2.10.6 OS: Xubuntu 18.04
Not so much a bug as just general feedback.
I just upgraded from 2.8.22 to 2.10.6. Performance is generally good, but I notice that a few operations are noticeably slower in 2.10. For example, the Hue/Saturation operation is one. The most troubling is the Export (typically as a JPG) operation which now takes about twice as long as it did in 2.8, with a lot of "pauses" during the file write operation.
It is interesting that the Save to xcf format does not exhibit these sorts of delays.
Maybe this is all due to the new expanded color/bit depth handling under the hood and is unavoidable, but if it can be optimized for speed, that would be great.
