Artifacts when opening tif images generated by matlabs blocproc function
GIMP version: 2.8.16
Operating System: Ubuntu 16.04
Package: Ubuntu package manager
Description of the bug
When I open one of the attached files in Gimp, there appear some strange boxes with patterns in the right part of the image. The boxes are only present in Gimp and not in other image viewers like Eye of GNOME, Evince, ImageMagick and Shotwell Viewer.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Open the attached file "example1-1300-400.tif".
- Observe the strange boxes on the right side of the loaded image.
- Repeat with the other attached examples.
For a comparison between the expected and actual result, see the attached screenshot.
Additional information
I have attached the matlab script that generated the example images (script_75m.m). I have observed that the size of the boxes change when the size of the image that is analyzed is altered. The boxes also change when the block size if changed.
