"disabling compression won't make the XCF readable" message is confusing
I saw the following message while saving an XCF.
I'm confused about what it means. If disabling compression won't change the readability of the image, why mention it at all? Or does keeping the "better but slower compression" option off actually mean that the image will be readable by older GIMP versions?
Also, if I'm not saving as a bzip2/gzip/xz file, is the image still compressed? If so, why are there two different places to select compression?
