ScriptFu: enhancements and fixes surrounding Stain plugin

Stain was broken by changes to signature of plugin Distress Selection.

Fix it, and make enhancements while there. See commits.

No changes to functionality of Stain plugin.

Also fix a compiler warning from earlier commit re Stencil Chrome.
