Imported files have print size out of the blue then low ppi
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version:2.10.34
- Package: installed via ubuntuhandbook1 ppa
- Operating System: Linux Mint 20.3
I am running GIMP 2.10.34 on Linux Mint 20.3, and using DarkTable 4.3.1 Description of the bug
In past GIMP versions, I would open GIMP, open a .nef or .dng raw file, and have settings configured so that DarkTable automatically opens those files. Then I can edit the files in DarkTable, export them, and as soon as I close DarkTable, the images open in GIMP, at their proper 300 pixels per inch size, where I can finish editing them.
With GIMP 2.10.34, everything works as described above, except that once the images from DarkTable open in GIMP, GIMP changes them to 72 pixels per inch.
The only work-around I have found is to first open the raw images in DarkTable, then export them to a folder, then open GIMP and open those files from the folder. When done in this fashion, GIMP opens them with the proper 300ppi size.
But this is a step backwards as far as productivity, because GIMP 2.10.34 has lost the automated ability to properly import raw files from DarkTable
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? always
Reproduction steps:
- Open GIMP and open a raw files such as a .dng or .nef file
- DarkTable will start, and open the above raw file. Either close DarkTable or export the file and then close DarkTable
- The file will then open in GIMP - but at 72ppi
…
Expected result:In my case, the expected result is the imported raw files should be at 300ppi
Actual result:The imported files show up at 72ppi
