Video to announce GIMP 3.0?
This is the second time someone mentions a video for GIMP 3.0 release. I guess something similar to what Inkscape did for their Inkscape 1.0 release would be nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6UHXkND4Sc
We do videos (animation film to be exact) for a living, but we don't have any exclusivity on GIMP and anyway our time is very limited, so we'd like to welcome other video makers if they want to contribute for a grand-release of GIMP 3.0. This report can be used as an organizational pad for this work. We welcome people proposing plans, draft texts, mockups and storyboard, list the most important features we should exhibit in such release video (we clearly won't be able to be exhaustive, but we could make a choice or regroup features in categories of changes), and so on. And of course, we welcome here people wanting to do the recording, editing, and so on.
It's probably much better to be short and to the point rather than overlong.
Requirement: we only work with/accept "libre art" licenses. Normally we are into the CC by-sa license, but for such a release video, a CC by might be much more appropriate.
Requirement 2: if we are not the ones to do the video, we don't want to force others to use specifically our tools, though let's use Free Software at least (GIMP of course for anything 2D raster graphics, Inkscape for vector needs, then Blender or Kdenlive or other FLOSS for effects, editing and whatnot…). "Eat your own dog food" as one usually says!
