GIMP 2.10.34 Cut/Copy/Paste doesn't work

• Operating System: Artix Linux (Arch-based, but without systemd)

Description of the bug

Cut/Copy/Paste doesn't work at all for me. Either with the hotkey or via menu. Well, at the first start of GIMP it works. The second one - no.

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? Always.

Reproduction steps:

1. Start GIMP 2.10.34
2. Open an image, select a rectange and press Ctrl+x, for example - it works
3. Close GIMP
4. Start GIMP again
5. Open an image, select a rectange and press Ctrl+x - doesn't work

Expected result: Cut/Copy/Paste should work as expected.

Actual result: Doesn't work.

Additional information

It happened with the recent update of GIMP (2.10.32 -> 2.10.34) as well as babl (0.1.98-1 -> 0.1.100-1) and gegl (0.4.40-4 -> 0.4.42-1).

But I've found the culprit! Should I remove ~/.cache/babl/babl-fishes and restart GIMP it works again. As a temporary solution I emptied the babl-fishes file and then chattr +i babl-fishes. Now Cut/Copy/Paste works at every GIMP start. I know it's a dirty hack, but at least I can work now.

Anyone experiencing this?
