Please make closing paths easier
As mentioned on many occasions by users (see e.g. https://twitter.com/icecreamrevenge/status/1478643704709668865), closing a path takes some extra attention: once needs to either read documentation or the status bar message to know that you need to press Ctrl and then click on the start node. There is no on-canvas indication unless you do just that. Maybe it doesn't have to be this complicated?
Here is tentative design where just hovering the start node in other apps gets it highlighted (or changes mouse pointer slightly in case of Photoshop), then a single click closes the path.
The use case where you might want tweaking the start node before closing the path seems a little off. If specialized vector graphics apps mostly don't do that, why would GIMP with its less powerful vector tools do that?
