GIMP 2.10.30: Colour Picker broken

• Package: flatpak ( also PPA from ubuntuhandbook)
• Operating System: Linux Mint 20.1 MATE

Description of the bug

Colour Picker doesn't pick colour but uses last used tool instead

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? Yes

Reproduction steps:

Create a new image, fill background with some pattern. Choose brush tool. Click foreground colour tool to change its colour. Click on the pipette to grab colour from the image with the pattern you created before. Result: No colour picked. Instead, it uses the brush tool to paint on the pattern. This was not the case until GIMP 2.10.28
