Windows showing wrong memory usage in the Dashboard?

Environment/Versions

• GIMP version:GIMP 2.10.28
• Package: From Windows Package Manager manifest repository (winget-pkgs)
• Operating System: Windows 10

Stable and on GIMP 2.99.7 commit d61a682b

Description of the bug

When starting GIMP and doing nothing I check the Dashboard and on Memory it is at 1.7GiB used. If I make a tiny 16x16 canvas, it balloons up to 2.0Gib used. On the Task Manager it shows as 135.3MB. I figured it would not appear the same, but thats a big jump.

I gave the Linux flatpak dev version on my other SSD a test, and it shows around 100 MiB or so when I booted it to compare.

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? Always

Reproduction steps:

1. Start GIMP
2. Go to the Dashboard and see Memory Used (my case was 1.7GiB)
3. Open a 16x16 canvas and see Memory Used going up by like 300MiB

…

Expected result:Show proper memory usage

Actual result:Shows me that its using almost 2 Gibibytes by just opening the program.
