Deleted/Uninstalled/Modified Fonts Appear in GIMP In Unmodified Original Form Regardless of Installation/Overwrite State
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.10.28
- Package: Installer from gimp.org
- Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Description of the bug
I design and work on fonts as part of personal projects (texture and graphic designs) for a Flight Simulator.
While working on one font, I decided I needed to change some elements of the font using FontForge. I uninstalled the existing version of the font from Windows, made my modifications, and then installed the font once again.
After multiple methods of uninstalling and checking various steps, GIMP continues to show the very first version of the font and will not show any modified versions. It will also continue to show the font even after completely uninstalling it from Windows.
Reproduction
[Always]
Reproduction steps:
- Install the font "BaskervaldADFStd-Heavy.otf"
- Uninstall the font "BaskervaldADFStd-Heavy.otf"
or
- Install the font "BaskervaldADFStd-Heavy.otf"
- Uninstall the font "BaskervaldADFStd-Heavy.otf"
- Modify the font/Replace the font with another of the exact same metadata
Expected result: Font is no longer in list of fonts from GIMP
Actual result: The original, unmodified font will continue to show regardless of installation state or other modification
