GIMP crashes when an image is opened with IrfanView or Windows Movie Maker

Environment/Versions

• GIMP version: 2.10.24 (revision 3)
• Package: Installer from gimp.org
• Operating System: Windows 8.1

Description of the bug

When I open an image with right click -> Open with -> GIMP and than open some image with IrfanView, GIMP crashes.

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? Always

Reproduction steps:

1. Select an image in the file manager with right click
2. Select Open with -> GIMP
3. Open any image with IrfanView

…

Expected result: GIMP proceeds as usual

Actual result: Windows shows two messages about crashes and GIMP disappears.
