On startup runs iscan
Operating System: Elementary OS Hera - Ubuntu 18.04.4 - Linux 5.4.0-66-generic
Description of the feature
After some "fun" I managed to install a 32-bit version of Epson Image Scan (iscan) and get it to work with my Epson Perfection 3170 Photo scanner. The next step is to get it to work with Gimp.
In iscan's man page it says "After creating such a symlink, iscan will be queried by gimp(1) the next time it's invoked."
I have Gimp 2.10.14 which I installed from ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp. It found iscan and created a symbolic link in /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins for it. When Gimp starts it does this, as expected:
Querying plug-in: '/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/iscan'
Then the iscan GUI opens and Gimp waits until it is closed. Once closed Gimp continues with:
gimp: LibGimpBase-WARNING: gimp: gimp_wire_read(): error Terminating plug-in: '/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/iscan'
iscan is not then available in File/Create.
Use cases
I don't expect iscan to open when Gimp is "querying" it, and I would like it to be available from File/Create as I believe is expected.
