API to get current pointer coordinates
Update on 2020-12-13 by Jehan
A "tool" or specific feature for this seems a bit over the top, because it's much too specific to one person use-case. But an API to get the drawable-space coordinates of the pointer would definitely be useful. Then it would be easy for anyone to implement a third-party plug-in which does whatever you want with these coordinates (like copying to clipboard with a given syntax).
So repurposing the report for a new libgimp function creation.
There is no 'tool' to copy the current coordinates to the Linux X clipboard, etc. Can only read them off the bottom of the window, e.g., 4359,3458, and type them down by hand. Or read

I mean allowing the user to copy the current coordinates should be a basic right! Imagine if Google Maps wouldn't let one copy the current location's lat/lon?
