Opening & exporting (jpg) files very slow compared to 2.8
GIMP Version: GIMP 2.10.20 (revision 1)
Operating System: Windows 7
Package: Installer from gimp.org
Yesterday I updated from 2.8 to 2.10.20 In 2.8 I had a handy "edit with GIMP" in the windows explorer context menu, which disappeared, but I can still use "Open with..."
But: opening a (jpg) file (2 to 3 MB in size, 3000x4000 resolution) is much slower now (with GIMP already running). It takes several seconds now (almost 10) before the image is opened. This was much faster before.
After a few small edits, I "export" the file and again it takes several seconds (almost 5) before the dialog with the jpeg settings appears. (After that, speed is normal)
Once opened, performance of edits is lightning speed.
