[Bug(?)] [Flatpak] [2.99] Selection tools not showing what it has selected

GIMP version: 2.99 (git)

Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).

Operating System: Linux (Fedora)

Package: Flatpak from flathub-beta

Description of the bug

This only happens when using the Wayland socket.

Whenever I am using a selection tool, the selection tool doesn't make it obvious what it has selected:

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? Always

Reproduction steps:

  1. Launch GIMP with the Wayland socket.
  2. Select a selection tool (Fuzzy Selection Tool for example)
  3. Try to select something

Expected result: Make it obvious that it has selected something

Actual result: Doesn't show what it has selected

Additional information

If you have a backtrace for a crash or a warning, paste it here.

I don't, but if guided, I could provide some.
