[Bug(?)] [Flatpak] [2.99] Selection tools not showing what it has selected

Description of the bug
This only happens when using the Wayland socket.
Whenever I am using a selection tool, the selection tool doesn't make it obvious what it has selected:
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Launch GIMP with the Wayland socket.
- Select a selection tool (Fuzzy Selection Tool for example)
- Try to select something
Expected result: Make it obvious that it has selected something
Actual result: Doesn't show what it has selected
