GIMP screenshot colors, multiple monitors
GIMP version:
Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).
Operating System: Windows
Package: 2.10.18, installed by corporate IT software delivery, presumably from gimp.org package
Description of the bug
Multiple monitors docked or attached to laptop. Color of screen capture seems overly influenced by one monitor.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always (for me :)
Reproduction steps:
- Dock or attach multiple monitors
- Tune each monitor to have some noticeably different color warmth
- On each screen, repeat: a. ensure GIMP and screenshot-source windows are both on that monitor b. capture that window via File > Create > Screenshot... c. drag the "+" to the source window d. check whether you get an screenshot with expected colors. check the GIMP window title after the capture - it may indicate the reference monitor color scheme?
Expected result: Captured colors match visible colors
Actual result: Captured colors are overly influenced by one of the (dominant?) monitors Perhaps this is the monitor on which the "Screenshots" dialog, with the "+" to drag. This may become the color scheme reference monitor, but this color-reference seems to distort the colors captured in the target window.
