gnome low performance (#5421) and how to solve it at least partially by installing at-spi2
this is in addition to my report #5421 (closed) about gimp's performance problem
por any reason I stumbled in some groups over at-spi2 problems and brought me to the point
at-spi2 is about accessibility but not only, any dbus communication also may use it
since I run KDE I do not had at-spi2 core and the two execs activated, now activated my performance problems are gone, not only gimp start-up is fast also any filesystem operations are reasonable fast what probably is incorporating the swap access
how at-spi2 is implemented or needed in gnome is a question other people should be able to answer and eventual it might be interesting to disable the at-spi2 communication when gnome is not installed and use the kde-at-spi-api or whatever they have for that case
who runs XFCE or any gnome clone desktop probably should not have any problem, Plasma5 seems to have ati-spy2 client or similar build in but I still do not know if it is needs the at-spi2-registryd running
hope that can help somebody who has performance problems with gimp or other gnome apps in KDE
