GIMP 2.10.14 Can't find brushes folder in Mac osx Catalina 10.15.4

GIMP version:

Note: bug reporters are expected to have verified the bug still exists either in the last stable version of GIMP or on updated development code (master branch).

Operating System: [Windows? macOS? Linux?]

Package: [flatpak? Installer from gimp.org? If another installer, tell us where from]

Description of the bug

Please describe your issue with details. Add screenshot or other files if needed.

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? [Always / Randomly / Happened only once ]

Reproduction steps:

  1. in Gimp, I search Gimp/preferences/folders/brushes
  2. The writable folder is: /users/"username"/library/application support/GIMP/2.10/brushes
  3. I make sure this first option box is checked
  4. In finder, I can find: /users/"username"/library/application support/GIMP/2.10 but that's as far as I get. There is no "brushes" folder when using GIMP 2.10.14 on my iMac

…

Expected result: to be able to see the "brushes" folder so I can save my custom brushes or save brushes I download

Actual result: I cannot move my .gbr files to the "brushes" folder as indicated in gimp/preferences/folders/brushes
