Path Tool Precision
- GIMP version: 2.10.18
- Operating System: Arch Linux
- Package: aur
Description of the bug
When using the path tool to create a path, very small tangents get pulled out when placing a node. This has been around for a very long time and I realized there was never an actual bug report made that I could find.
This bug was created after switching to Cairo and was talked about in the mailing list back in 2016.

There is also a plugin built just to get around this problem.

Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible?
Always for some
Reproduction steps:
- Create a complex path
- Stroke the path
Expected result:
A clean and uniform stroke of the path
Actual result:
Gaps in the stroke.
Additional information
This doesn't appear to affect everyone and I believe it has to do with the resolution of the mouse being used more than anything. I do know that it never did this prior to a certain update, and has always done it since. I've looked into adjusting the mouse precision in arch linux and it's not trivial and haven't pursued it.
The image and xcf links in the mailing list thread above used my Public dropbox folder. In Dropbox's infinite wisdom, they removed that folder which broke all the links. Here is everything referenced there.
