PDF import does not preserve specified resolution
GIMP version: 2.10.14
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux
Package: Debian package 2.10.14-2
When importing and rasterizing a PDF file, you can set the resolution on import (say to 300dpi), but the resulting image has resolution set to 72dpi. To get correct measurements, you then need to go to 'Image/Print Size' and reset the resolution.
Note this is distinct from #1090 : I'm not asking for GIMP to automatically detect the proper resolution, I'm asking for GIMP to preserve the resolution once you have set it.
- Open a PDF file. (As far as I can tell any PDF will do; for concreteness I used an 8.5x11 PDF.) In the import dialog, set the Resolution to 300 pixels/in.
- Change rulers in the imported file to measure in inches. Observe that the total width is not the width of the original PDF.
- Go to Image/Print Size
Expected result: Image width of 8.5 inches, X resolution of 300 pixels/in
Actual result: Image width of 35.417 inches, X resolution of 72 pixels/in
