GIMP crashes when opening "too many" image files.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? [Always]
Reproduction steps:
- Select a bunch of files in Windows Explorer. In my case: 14 files totaling 27MB
- Drag said files to an opened instance of GIMP
- Watch GIMP open a few of the files quickly, then slow to a crawl before crashing.
Expected result:
All files open ready to be edited or some sort of message telling that I'm opening too many files.
Actual result:

Additional information
I ran GIMP in "debug mode": gimpportable --verbose --console-messages
The last line shows, as shown in the attachment:
