Issue created Aug 02, 2019 by Richard Koontz@opalibis

Tiff files generated by GIMP cannot be deleted or used by other programs.

[Files are locked by Windows tasks - if you are affected, please report this to Microsoft and point them to this issue to maybe get some technical info out of them about the actual reason]

I am using windows 10 I am using gimp 2.10.12

I began by taking a greyscale image generated by a scanner and applying threshold to it to produce a black and white image.

I proceded to cut the black and white image from that file and paste it as a different file using Control+Shift+V.

I then changed the file to RGB mode.

I added layers and colors to produce a desired image.

I exported the file as a tif file using default settings.

The file could not be deleted by any means, including the command line.

The file could not be read by my photo display program.

The file could not be read by Open Office.
