Gimp 2.10 doesn't start on Mac when running from the disk image instead of /Applications folder

I had problems with the software as the paintbrush was very faint despite being on the right settings so I deleted it and installed it again. I went to open it and it came up with the usual '"Gimp 2.10" is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you wanna open it?' Box. I ticked 'Don't warn me when opening applications on this Disk Image' then clicked open. The Gimp 2.10 icon just bounced once then nothing happened. Now whenever I try to click onto it the same thing just keeps happening. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it so many times and it's the same thing over and over again. PLEASE HELP!!!
