Description of the bug
You can end up with a grayscale layer in a colour image. E.g. you can't then paint on it in colour or use RGB filters.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? [Always / Randomly / Happened only once ]
Reproduction steps:
- make a new image, RGB 8bit (say)
- paint in colour so you can see what's happening
- add a layer mask to the background layer, with greyscale copy to initialise it
- while editing the layer mask, select all, copy 5, paste as new layer notice you see a greyscale copy of your picture from step 2. Now try to use the various function in the Colours menu.
…
Expected result:
The pixel data should be converted to RGB on paste. Or there should be a way in the layers menu to change a greyscale layer to a colour one???
