Cubicall Distortion Working With Photos especially the background of a Photos has Black almost 3D Block looking Box's instead of normal background
I am running Linux Ubuntu 18.04.2 With all the latest updates and everything is current. Have checked for Malware, Adware, Viruses too. This is on a Dell Optiplex 990 Desktop 16 DDR 3 12 TB storage, connected to a Barco Projector and a 65 inch LCD flat screen Display.
Lately when I work on a photo say doing a screen grab if I want to take a look at what is in the back of that photo and if I do an "Invert" or change something simple like how "Brightness or Contrast" it is.
I end up with these what looks to me like 3D Black Building Blocks I have watched them slowly being built to cover over the things in the background of photos I want to edit or look deeper into. I end up with almost a checker-board of Black on Black blocks or box's and not the things in the back of the photos I want or need access too.
In one case after it finished what I am calling "Redacting" the background of a photo it left me with a very very long digital number of over 50 characters down the left side of that photo. It was a simple random photo I clipped from a video on a site I manage for YouTube, no Govt secrets anything like that so what is going on with GIMP?
Why is it not letting me see what I know is already in the photos and instead blocking it out?
And Yes I do know how this makes me sound by the way too, but I have hundred of files now that are "Redacted" all because GIMP decided to block what is in the background most are just the person we interviewed I was collecting them to use for Adds on other sites, or to use in print adds latter on, to promote their books or tours.
Any questions or Ideas would be great as I said nothing has come up on all my scans and I have even gone as far as to remove and then reinstall GIMP a couple of times now. That is completely remove it restart then reinstall. Have started asking around for help thought I should also ask here see what comes up if anything as far as good ideas that is. G
