"Open as layer" from command line
Description of the feature
Add a command line option to open (multiple) file as new layer to the existing active.
E.g., the command line
$ gimp foo.jpg --as-layer bar.jpg --as-layer baz.jpg
will create a new image from foo.jpg
and adds the content of bar.jpg
and baz.jpg
as layers.
A subsequent
$ gimp --as-layer image.jpg
will add image.jpg
, resulting in a 4-layer image in gimp.
A quick googling revealed some workarounds, e.g.,
- create a tiff file from
foo.jpg
,bar.jpg
andbaz.jpg
, then open and delete the tiff file. - somehow employ gimp batch processor (didn't really get the idea)
The proposed feature would simplify both workarounds.
