Placing a file in the Places/Favorites Section of Open Image causes Crash

I accidentally dragged my .xcf file into the places part of the Open Image menu which saved it as a favorite/shortcut and caused the program to crash. I restarted gimp and the shortcut was still saved. Right clicking gave no option to remove it and any attempt to left click to drag the file out caused gimp to crash immediately. I deleted the file in windows file explorer and restarted gimp and it was gone from the shortcuts.
