Wacom Tablet (Bamboo CTL-470) not Working Correctly with Gimp and Gnome Settings Panel
GIMP version: 2.10.6
Operating System: Linux computername 4.15.0-36-generic #39 (closed)-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 24 16:19:09 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Ubuntu 18.04
Package: [flatpak? Installer from gimp.org? If another installer, tell us where from] deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/otto-kesselgulasch/gimp/ubuntu bionic main
Description of the bug
Gnome states "No Stylus found", but in the preview one can paint (see att. screenshot) , but without pressure sensitivity. The Wacom Tablet works fine with Krita 4.0.1 (including pressure sensitivity)
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? [Always / Randomly / Happened only once ] always Reproduction steps:
- Connect a Wacom Bamboo CTL-470
- use stylus, it works like a mouse
- open gnome settings panel -> devices -> Wacom which should show "No Stylus" but Test your setting works like a mouse
- Use Gimp (tested with 2.8 and 2.10) an see that its working like a mouse (100% pressure)
…
Expected result: The diameter of the brush should alter with pressure. The Tablet should appear in the gnome settings panel. Use Krita and see if it is working (including pressure)
Actual result: The Tablet works (although gnome settings states no stylus found) like a mouse pointer and applies 100% pressure with gnome and gimp. Within Krita 4.0.1 (earlier versions also iirc working totally perfect.
