GIMP 2.99.19 - inaccurate split view bug

Description of the bug

The split view has an inaccurate preview in GIMP 2.99.19 because I'm selecting a different layer.

Reproduction

Is the bug reproducible? Always Reproduction steps:

1. Make text with dropshadow nde
2. Make a bottom layer that is transparent
3. Select bottom layer
4. Click on the text's dropshadow icon while the bottom layer is selected and edit it.
5. Split View dropshadow
6. Inaccurate preview …

Expected result: Split view is accurate Actual result: split view is jank

Please don't make it where we can't edit from other layers being selected as that is useful
