GIMP 2.99.19 freezes when create new image uses an invalid character

• GIMP version: GIMP 2.99.19 (the spiral clip fix build) should be irrelevant.
• Package: source build
• Operating System: Fedora 39 Linux

Description of the bug

When creating a new image I accidentally typed 1600 x 900o and GIMP froze. I understand its invalid but I don't think it should crash GIMP. We all know this

Is the bug reproducible? Always

Reproduction steps:

1. Create a new image
2. Intentionally use a invalid character (non number)
3. GIMP freezes

2.10 seems to be guessing the width... but 3 freezes
