cloning from a filtered layer to another clones the original unfiltered layer
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.99.17 commit f9a75fbe
- Package: recent pull
- Operating System: Linux
Description of the bug
It clones the unfiltered original colors to the new layer.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Filter a layer (I used Levels).
- Add a layer or use an existing different layer.
- Select filtered layer and engage clone with a shift click.
- Move to the new layer and use the clone tool.
…
Expected result: That the newly cloned areas are of the filtered layer.
Actual result: The newly cloned areas are of the unfiltered original layer.
Additional information
Also, the filtered image does not update in the layers dialog thumbnail. I was not going to report this as it is bordering on cosmetic, but I am surprised by how much I use the visual information from the layers dialog -- you know, so as to know which layer was say, auto-levelled and which one was thresholded, etc.
