Plugin icon "file-png" remains displayed in the Finder Dock (MacOS)

Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible?
Reproduction steps:
- open a png file in Gimp;
- make changes to the image;
- export the file in png format;
- abandon the changes by quitting Gimp.
Expected result:
The icon for the gimp.app application should appear in the Finder Dock, among those for "recently opened applications".
Actual result:
The icon for the gimp.app application does not appear in the Finder Dock; instead, the icon for the "file-png" executable binary appears; the binary is located in the following directory: /Applications/GIMP.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-png/file-png
