About Snap in drawing/painting
I think everyone has seen this kind of Global Snap used in drawing/painting.
But this is a function that GIMP doesn't have. GIMP has a similar function: symmetry painting.
In my GIMP brushes project (SLOS-GIMPainter), I showed how to combine several existing functions of GIMP to achieve drawing purposes.

After I released the perspective-line video, the author of Gimp-Painter also released the perspective-line video. I don't know if this is a response to me :) (I released the perspective-line demonstration first)
My project is SLOS-GIMPainter (GIMP brushes project).
Gimp-Painter is a GIMP 2.8 fork project, and development stopped 10 years ago (several features were updated in 2022). The names of these two projects may look similar, but they are actually different.
New tool for Gimp-Painter (2022-3-10): Perspective guide: https://youtu.be/Kymz1RkJ4Ms
The author of Gimp-Painter demonstrated a new function: Global Snap. This function can draw perspective-lines, horizontal/vertical parallel lines and radial lines.
This function is really faster than my perspective-line drawing method. (My perspective-line is suitable as a reference line, and then the layer above it is drawn without constraints)
I use the SVG file as the path. I saw that @pixelmixer submitted several patches about the Snap to Active Path.
Snapping-distance: !1116 (closed)
What I want to say is that if it is not a single path, but multiple paths merged together, the Snapping distance of large parameters will make adjacent paths interfere with each other.
Picking paths and snap to active path: !1120 (closed)
My version: GIMP 2.10.34 GNU/Linux.
This #10197 setup does have such a problem, but you have to switch the path tool once to choose another path, which is an unnecessary operation. Selecting directly with the Path tool will also result in editing the path.
The quick way is to select the path in the path panel.

So if you want to rely on Snap for complex drawing, Global Snap is a good function.
