Created attachment 355087 [details] GIMP log
from the log:
(gimp-2.9:799): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new_is_valid_property: object class 'GeglDotVisitor' has no property named 'id' sh: dot: command not found
** (gimp-2.9:799): WARNING **: gegl:png-load Error opening file /var/folders/y6/bpb77bw533d6qwl1_kxjsfy40000gn/T/gegl-introspect.png: No such file or directory

(gimp-2.9:799): GEGL-WARNING **: Output of gegl:png-load 0x7fc1642cd420 has no format
Gegl would only warn when 'dot' is not installed:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gegl/tree/operations/common/introspect.c#n61
(don't know if in such case system() would return -1), but proceed to load a nonexistent png file
(and modifying gegl:introspect to try to load a nonexistent file crashes GIMP also on linux).
I'd say this is a GEGL bug. Though the other CRITICALs are a GIMP concern
