option to not open the same file in a new window?
Title might be cryptic. Let me explain..
I'm trying to fix how gedit is called in a script which allows to jump from textedit URIs in a PDF to the matching line:column in the text file which generated the PDF.
gedit command is defined here.
Currently the column is missing from the command. I'm fixing it.
But I want also to avoid that each time I click on the PDF links a new window of gedit appears. I want the cursor to change its position in the same gedit window while I click on the PDF.
I thought that --wait
option may be what I need, but it's not working. Do you have any idea of what might be wrong?
Here's the command I'm using in the editor.scm file linked above:
("gedit" . "gedit --wait +%(line)s:%(column)s %(file)s")
Also, I don't think it's something I need for this matter.. but it's not clear what --standalone
(standalone mode) is. Can you explain?
Thanks in advance!
