File Open dialog loses focus Permanently
Issue: Once focus is switched away from file open dialog to the main (editor) window it is impossible to gain focus back in any manner using the keyboard.
Platform: I am using Flatpak version of Gedit 3.34.0 on Ubuntu 18.04
How to reproduce:
- Press Ctrl+O to open the dialog box
- Press Alt+`
- Now you are at the bottom of an endless chasm. No keyboard strikes will help you gain the focus of file open dialog back.
- Further more, even if you use mouse to gain focus of the file open dialog, next time when you press Ctrl+O, file open dialog will open in unfocussed mode and no keyboard shortcut will be of any help.
- Further more, even if you quit or kill Gedit with mouse/keyboard/terminal and launch it again, and press Ctrl+O, file open dialog still opens in unfocussed mode and totally inaccessible through keyboard.
- Further more, even if you close everything and relaunch Gnome (Alt+F2 r ), then launch Gedit and press Ctrl+O, file open dialog still opens without focus and it is impossible to provide it focus with keyboard only (without mouse).
- Finally, log out of the Gnome session and log in back, and launch Gedit. Now press Ctrl+O and this time file open dialog is in focus, you can use arrow-keys to navigate or simply use '/' to begin typing the path.
Expected behavior: I should not be forced to use mouse for the file open dialog. PS: Sorry if somebody misunderstood my problem and renamed it or associated it with lack of modality.
