Links in plain text email replies have additional "<" ">" added when sent
After landing the plain text formatting fallback for rich text mail, links in non-rich-text mail are getting surrounded by <
and >
chars. This actually isn't too surprising, and is a common way of delimiting links in text, however it may well be a bit surprising since the text sent is not the text displayed, and when adding in the angle brackets manually, or quoting links, more brackets get added.
E.g. the text:
blah <http://example.com> blag
When entered manually or quoted for reply is sent as:
blah <<http://example.com>> blag
In general it would be good to enable rich text editing for plain text email that does insert markdown-like formatting, but for 0.13 we just need a fix for this. A workaround might be to examine links where text_content == href and check the chars on either side aren't angle brackets.
